The SF Service Guide provides two types of resources: resource guides and a human services directory.

Resource Guides

Resource Guides are multi-step, guided questionnaires that provided targeted referrals based on a person's current situation. The Guide will ask a series of questions and based on the responses will provide referrals that best address that person's needs. Resource Guides were designed to be used by either case managers or directly by people in need. Each of the Resource Guides was built in partnership with a human services provider in San Francisco who are experts in their fields and the questions are modeled after their intake process.

Human Services Directory

The SF Service Guide has the largest continuously updated human services directory in San Francisco. The directory can be accessed via 3 ways.

The Resource Guides provide recommendations to services and organizations that are listed in the directory.

You can search the directory directly by service category, service name, or organization name by using the search bar at the top of the website.

You can browse the directory by category by scrolling to the section on SFServiceGuide.org which lists top level categories and clicking on a category.

Once your viewing listing in the directory, either by searching or browsing, you can filter the results based on your current situation.
